Best Children’s Backpack / Suitcase Design | Junior Design Awards 2023

Finally, we can reveal the award winning children's backpacks and suitcase in this year's design awards

Who:Micro Scooters

What:Micro Trike Eazy 3in1 Suitcase

Why:

The judges were impressed with this fuss-free, easy to use suitcase-come-trike. They loved that kids could ride their case through the airport, stow it away as their hand luggage on the plane and then it becomes a fun Trike for adventures at the other end. With a roomy 22 litre capacity – it will hold all those holidays ‘essentials’.

When on holiday – just remove the suitcase and you have a nimble, foldable, lightweight trike for your jet-setting adventurer – which can double as a sort-of holiday stroller.

Wow - this is seriously impressive. Do they come in adult sizes?

Perfect for travelling at the parents' speed, instead of the little one's.

Such a great design and product, sure to make travelling with kids easier. I can already picture these whizzing through airports!

The design of this product is smooth and flawless. Love how lightweight yet sturdy it is. I worry that the felt on the front of the product will attract quite a bit of dirt though.

Who:Micro Scooters

What:Mini Micro Suitcase Scooter

Why:

Another win for Micro Scooters. This time it’s the Mini Micro Suitcase Scooter. Judges were impressed with the innovative folding mechanism – that’s easy and safe (and no finger trapping!), the light-up wheels that never run out and need no batteries, and the clever stabilising wheel that offers a freestanding luggage solution that means no accidents at the airport.

A huge hit in the Junior judging space.

I love this - my daughter would have loved this when she was small. Sure beats walking at the airport!

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

Very clever product! A scooter and a bag combined - I love this concept!

The perfect travel accessory for budding mini jet setters.

This product has a smooth glide and the light up wheels are a great touch.

Who:Trunki

What:Dudley the Dinosaur

Why:

Trunki was one of the original and innovative ride on suitcases for globe-trotting tots. So it’s great to see them in the line-up. The judges love that every year they see a new design – this year Dudley the Dinosaur is the latest Trunki to join the troop…in an unmissable lime green colour with yellow and green wheels.

This little dino is made and designed in the UK , has an 18 litre capacity and comes with a 5 year guarantee.

Always love seeing the new Trunki designs - and seeing who will be added next. My daughter had the ladybird design when she was a toddler.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

The iconic design has made this an absolute must have for children. I love the continued evolution of new designs and patterns.

A classic and a very sweet design. Always great to see the latest from Trunki - sure to be a travel essential!
