Best Feeding Product Design (Baby) | Junior Design Awards 2023

Breast feeding or about to start weaning? Then you'll need these award winning feeding products to help your baby on their culinary journey

Who:Pippeta

What:BPA-Free Milk Storage Bottles (Set of 4), teats and lids.

Why:

This stylish and modern interpretation of the classic glass feeding bottle caused quite a stir amongst our judges, many of whom hadn’t considered the advantages of using glass bottles until now. Made from High Borosilicate Glass they are not only chemical-free but they are heat resistant, meaning they can be used during weaning to transport and heat up baby food.

The panel was excited to learn that not only is glass chemical free but it’s easier to clean and sterilize while creating less plastic pollution for the planet.

These bottles caused a huge stir on our judging days and converted many of the panel to the idea of using glass bottles. The design which blends modern simplicity with a nostalgic feel really appealed to everyone.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

There’s something so deliciously clean and simple about these sweet glass bottles designed with contrasting trims in lovely muted shades. Perfect for anyone who wants complete peace of mind about zero chemicals in their milk storage and a gentler footprint on our planet.

Ok, so I love these bottles and if I were a baby that's exactly how I’d want my milk served to me! Simple design, glass bottle and really reasonable price!

Who:Bumbo

What:Bumbo Highchair Suitable for children 6 months to 3 years

Why:

The Bumbo Highchair was put to good use during our judging days with several of our baby judges taking a seat! We can report that all of them were very happy to be in this minimally designed and supportive chair. Our grown-up judges agreed that this light yet sturdy high chair would be a great option for parents looking for a seat that’s safe, comfortable, stylish and with its lack of nooks and crannies, very easy-to-clean.

The panel also noted the fact that this highchair can be converted into a compact toddler seat for independent feeding and play, making it a long-term multi-use purchase.

We were able to be very hands-on with our testing this year as lots of our judges’ babies took a seat in this well-designed, easy-to-clean and supportive highchair. A great multi-purpose seat that will suit all families.

Bonita Tuner, Editor of Junior

This is such a well-designed chair that has factored in all the practicalities of feeding babies in comfort and making life easier for parents.

Who:BellaMoon

What:BellaMoon Pregnancy and Nursing Pillows

Why:

This 3-in-1 Pregnancy and Nursing Pillow immediately attracted the new mums in our judging team who could see just how useful it would be for pregnancy support, breastfeeding support and then infant support. The judges felt that the pillow was well designed, provided support exactly where a pregnant woman needs it and easily converted into a pillow that could support babies.

They also commented on the soothing choice of prints and colours that the pillow is available in, which can be removed for washing.

You can tell that this multi-functional pregnancy and nursing pillow has been designed by a mother in the know. The curve of the pillow is just right for providing support for the back, head and crucially between the legs to take the strain off that pelvis.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

This is a great idea that will provide a cocooning sensation for mother and baby during those important pregnancy and breastfeeding chapters when you need both physical and emotional support!

Who:Chomp

What:EveryKid Bib

Why:

These super cool leopard print apron bibs really excited our judges who loved the introduction of stylish colour and print into feeding and playtime. As well as looking great, all the extra thought that had gone into the practical design of these bibs really impressed the panel. Two crumb catcher pockets, double linings to prevent any stains seeping through, a longer-than-average front and soft elasticated cuffs were just a few of the details that stood out.

The panel also liked the grows-with-your-child aspect of this bib, which is designed to fit children from 6 months to 3 years. Oh, and they all loved the name!

Such cool bibs that can be used for feeding time and arts and crafts when they get a little bit bigger. Lots of fab details that set these apart from other apron bibs I’ve seen.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

Keeping babies clothes clean while they’re eating is no mean feat and these bibs look impenetrable, while keeping kids comfy and stylish.
