Who:Miffy

What:Miffy X Vermeer

Why:

This charming illustrated book for children featuring Dick Bruna’s iconic rabbit Miffy exploring the similarities and differences between Vermeer’s works and Bruna’s classic illustrations was a big hit with our judges.

This collaboration between Mercis bv, Dick Bruna’s Amsterdam-based publishers, and the Rijksmuseum aims to cultivate an interest in art among young children while also being fun for parents, grandparents, and art lovers, and the panel agreed that they had succeeded. After, all who wouldn’t want Miffy as a gallery tour guide?

Anyone who loves Miffy and art will love this book! A brilliant buy for bringing art history into your child’s life early!

The juxtaposition we never knew we needed! I’ll never look at a Vermeer again without thinking of Miffy. Brilliant!
