Best Cot / Cot Bed Design | Junior Designs Awards 2023

These are the winning cords and cot beds form the JDA 2023...

Who:HALO

What:The BassiNest Premiere bassinet

Why:

This deluxe bassinet suitable for babies up to 5 months was a big hit with our parent judges. The panel agreed that a huge amount of thought had gone into fine-tuning this design to make it as parent and baby-compatible as it could possibly be.

The patented retractable wall, which allows parents to reach baby from the comfort of their own bed and maintain closeness without co-sleeping was much appreciated, as was the rotating bassinet to help anyone with limited mobility, particularly post c-section to easily access their baby. The clever in-built soothing centre complete with four different soothing sounds, two vibration levels, night light and floor light, all with auto shut-off also impressed.

Intuitive design that will give new parents extra support in those early days when every step closer to ease and comfort really matters.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

The retractable wall is genius especially for women who are breastfeeding or recovering from a c-section. It seems like this brand has thought of everything a parent needs when it comes to a cot.

You had me at “in-built soothing centre…” If I had discovered this cot with its in-built vibrations and white noise when I had my very tricky, non-sleeping baby I would have snapped it up.

Who:KIKI & SEBBY®

What:The SBROUT® - 6-in-1 modular nursery furniture

Why:

Our judges loved the longevity and versatility of this modular furniture system made from sustainably grown wood, providing 6 different functions in one!

From a crib for newborns to a cot, to a chair suitable for late childhood and more, every variation was applauded by the panel who felt that this was a truly eco-friendly, stylish furnishing solution that provides a safe and cosy sleeping space that grows and adapts with your child, illustrating the importance of sustainability in the home.

Love the Scandi-inspired design, the warm wood and the extremely clever design which merges one milestone piece of furniture into another.

A brilliant way of setting your eco-friendly intentions early on in your child’s life.

Eleonore Crompton Deputy Editor, Junior

It starts as a crib made from eco-friendly solid wood. The Scandi-style design is timeless and complements any nursery decor. The comfortable and breathable mattress ensures that babies have a safe and restful sleep. The adjustable height feature ensures that parents can easily access their baby and that the baby is always at a safe height. I love the fact it is on wheels so can be moved from room to room, and that it can turn into a toddler cot is brilliant, making it great value for money.
