Best Unisex Fashion Collection | Junior Design Awards 2023

Clothing for modern children that don't want to be defined by their gender.. step forward the best unisex fashion brands

Who:Ducky Zebra

What:High-quality, sustainable childrenswear (0-6Y)

Why:

Ducky Zebra really caused a stir this year with our judges who loved the soft, well made, organic cotton pieces featuring fun patterns and a ‘splash power button’, which acts as a reminder to splash kindness and confidence – something we could all do with no matter what age!

The panel was impressed with the brand’s commitment to sustainability, their positive message and their ambition to provide unisex clothing that encourages kindness and confidence in equal measure.

A beautifully designed and presented collection with real heart. Fantastic!

Such great research and initiatives behind Ducky Zebra. It's amazing to see the significant positive social and environmental work that one small brand can do. A great example to many bigger brands that could do more...

So many fab ethical initiatives with this brand - they have really thought about everything. Really bright and fun with lovely whimsical characters and the splash is a lovely idea, reminding the wearer to splash kindness around.

Who:House of Margaux

What:Organic, Unisex, Hand Printed T-Shirts

Why:

This cool, contemporary collection of printed t-shirts really appealed to our judges who loved the graphic designs, fun motifs and excellent choice of colours which felt on-trend and fun for kids to wear.

The do good and feel good messaging on the t-shirts also went down really well with our judges who were excited to hear that as well as being made from certified GOTS organic cotton, this is a UK ‘made to order’ collection reducing waste and over production. Bravo!

A gorgeous collection of organic cotton feel-good t-shirts that kids will look fabulous in and parents will feel good about

Love the design and handwriting of the brand but what I love more is their ethical commitments and how they give their offcuts to local nurseries for crafting. a beautiful thought. Love the idea of made-to-order to eliminate wastage.

Who:Rock & Roars

What:‘Superstar Wildlings’ baby collection by Rock & Roars

Why:

The cool and exciting prints on this sustainably made collection really spoke to our judges who thought the range would appeal to parents looking for well made, day wear that stands out from the crowd.

The range of simple block, digital and illustrative prints meant there was something for everyone while still feeling cohesive. The soft cotton with high quality hems and cuffs felt robust enough for playing in and passing down.

I’m always so impressed with Rock & Roars’ fab designs that are perfect for playing in and capturing kids’ imaginations.

I'm always looking for fun leggings and shorts for boys - as well as girls - so it's great to see this collection. Practical, comfortable and cool. The sun print is my favourite.
