Who:Little Dutch

What:Little Dutch Toy Collection

Why:

The collection of sweet toys sent in to the JDA’s went down incredibly well with our judges who loved the soft muted tones and the cohesive feel of the collection, which has a lovely hand finished feel. The wooden campervan walker was a big hit with our little judges who loved filling it with soft toys and taking it for walks.

The panel agreed that this was a wonderful selection of toys that knew exactly what children want to play with, executed in a stylish and eco-conscious way.

Really lovely toys that successfully combine so many elements making them appealing to both kids and the adults who buy them!

The wooden vintage walker wagon that looks like a mini VW camper van was a huge hit and was really well made with a touch of fun – a theme that runs through all of Little Dutch’s toys.

The option to add a gift for a sibling and the way each box always includes a gift for the new parents, also went down really well.

Such an expertly curated gift service that any new parent would love to receive.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

I thought this was incredibly thoughtful. I love the neutral pallets which will appeal to most people and the idea you can also include something for a sibling as well as a pick me up for mum is just perfect.

Who:The Crush Series by Crush Series Publishing

What:The Crush Series books and activities

Why:

Our judges were really drawn to this beautifully illustrated set of books and accompanying activities. The panel felt the sweet linear illustrations brought the story’s animal characters to life perfectly and really enjoyed Ian Worboys’ charming educational rhyming tales, which teach kids about the consequences of our actions in a fun, light-hearted way.

The judges agreed that the Crush Series colouring books, quiz cards and audiobooks gave lots of added value, creating a lovely world for kids and their families to immerse themselves in.

Such a lovely feelgood series of books and activities that have a warm, educational feel that children and parents will love.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

I love the fact that these are real bedtime stories told to the author’s children that have now been lovingly illustrated and shared for everyone to enjoy.

Who:Bibinee Dolls

What:The Mable Doll Series

Why:

These adorable soft Mabel dolls were quickly scooped up by our mini judges who were attracted to their lovely plush texture and super cute faces. The panel was excited to see this beautifully made series of black and brown dolls specifically designed to provide positive representation to early years children.

Praised for being well made and showing great attention to detail, including sweet printed cotton dresses originating from Africa, the judges felt these dolls would make a lovely gift with the added bonus that they can be personalised with a child’s name.

Such a sweet range of dolls that reinforce positive representation, while nurturing a sense of pride in kids who are often under-represented.

Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

100% agree with this notion and love the African print details of the dress.

These dolls will have such a positive impact on young kids and it would be great to see them in school nurseries. Great that they are machine washable giving them a longer life.
