Fans of  London based, luxury children’s, women’s, and homeware brand, Caramel will be VERY excited about this collab with Spanish high street store Zara.

This latest launch, builds on Zara’s creative strategy to partner with cool independent brands and artists in a bid to bring new depth to its childrenswear offer. Collaborations with Sissel Edelbo and The Animals Observatory in Zara Kids homeware are recent examples.

Founded in London in 1999 by Eva Karayiannis, Caramel was born out of a desire to fill a void in the childrenswear space.

Everything was so classic – it had a puffy sleeve, a gathered waist and it was pink or blue,” says Karayiannis. At the other extreme, it was a tracksuit.”

The result was a clothing collection that developed a cult following among customers who loved its playful yet refined ethos and stunning use of fabric and print.

The Caramel x Zara collection is built around Karayiannis’ unique design principles, with an emphasis on versatility, comfort and ease. Drawing on long-standing inspirations including uniforms, menswear fabrics and a subtle, modern use of colour, both the kids and womenswear pieces feel relaxed yet elegant and are ideal for dressing up or down. Ultimately, these clothes feel very special and you can see the Caramel DNA in every piece.

“I want to create clothes that children can live in and make their own. The intention is always to give them the freedom to express their personalities and be themselves, put on the wrong sock, or do whatever!"
