Best Girl’s UK Fashion Collection | Junior Design Awards 2022

Who:Question Everything

What:A collection of classic hand-smocked dresses with a modern twist

Why:

These beautifully made dresses with hand stitched smocking and sweet contrast collar details, really charmed out judges who loved the mix of liberty print florals and cute retro inspired motifs with pops of neon for a slightly more relaxed feel on some pieces.

Our judges felt these dresses all had a high quality heirloom feel that would make them perfect for special occasions and passing down through multiple generations.

The sweetest little cotton dresses with gorgeous prints and smocking details. I absolutely love their SS22 campaign shots too.

Who:Angel & Rocket

What:Angel & Rocket Occasion wear

Why:

Just gorgeous! These occasionwear dresses perfect for weddings, celebrations and parties were a dream to judge and everyone wished they could give them a twirl themselves. Featuring delicate lace, soft tulle and individual hand drawn prints, the whole collection impressed the panel.

Something that really stood out to our judges was that the flower girl dresses had a simplicity to them that made them look much more expensive than you’d imagine, giving a Royal wedding look for a fraction of the price. Beautiful back details, pretty ribbons and ruffles that really stand up, made these dresses feel like something very special.

Angel & Rocket is the shopping destination for anyone looking for a stand out occasion dress or adorable off the peg dresses for a gaggle of bridesmaids from tinies to teens.

Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR

Beautiful quality, classic heirloom dresses to wrap in tissue and hand down through the generations.

Abigail Campbell, children’s fashion photographer and brand consultant, @abicampbellphotography

I have been on that journey hunting high and low for pretty flower girl dresses that don’t look too fussy or overly decorated. These would have been perfect!

Who:Cute Couture

What:Hand-made hand-smocked dresses

Why:

The panel loved these super sweet embroidered and smocked dresses which hark back a simpler time of pretty, high quality hand finished clothing for children.

The beautiful smocking work and intricate embroideries of flamingos, complete with co-ordinating scalloped hems really stood out in particular and our judges felt that these clothes would definitely fulfil the founders’ mission to help children feel like they are ready to face the world with a smile and a bounce in their step.

These are the dresses you remember wearing when you’re all grown up. I can imagine sisters wearing these dresses in the different colour-ways and feeling very special.

Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR

I love the simple beauty of this collection. It feels like it’s made with love and is reminiscent of the dresses my Mum used to make for me in the 70’s. Beautiful soft cotton and exquisite smocking.

Abi Campbell, fashion photographer and brand consultant, @abicampbellphotography

Beautiful timeless pieces.

These dresses are adorable. Scallops and flamingos are two of my favourite things so I was instantly smitten with the sundresses.
