Best Children’s Stationery Brand / Product | Junior Design Awards 2022

No matter the child, they love stationery - and these award winning brands are the ones to ensure they have on their desk...

Who:Polar Post

What:Elf Scribed Letters from Father Christmas

Why:

Since its launch in 2015, the Polar Post has become a wonderful Christmas ritual for so many children and parents who love the nostalgic artistry and magic that these letters from the North Pole never fail to bring. Our judges agreed that the quality and level of detail that goes into all the products within the Polar Post’s Christmas collection was unparalleled and that if there were any children with a tiny seed of doubt in their mind regarding you-know-who, the elves at Polar Post HQ would soon lay it to rest!

The limited edition, exquisitely illustrated stamps, hand-written envelopes and personally tailored letters were all much admired, as were the North Pole and Midnight Feast stamped hampers, which make the perfect Christmas Eve boxes or present stores.

The JDA panel was excited to discover that this year sees the introduction of a Magic Address Letter, featuring a beautifully engraved envelope, which comes in at a lower price point than the hand-scribed letters – making the Polar Post service more accessible to a wider audience without dimming the magic. Bravo with jingle bells on!

Every year, Polar Post founder Charlotte and her team of trusty elves surpass themselves, creating truly magical letters and keepsakes for families to treasure. A worthy Platinum winner!

The Polar Post is dancing sugar plums, stardust and hampers from the North Pole, but most of all it is a celebration of kindness, imagination and wonder.

Why:

Our judges loved these ready-to-go, stress-free card making kits that are given a uniquely personal touch with the family’s fingerprints. These simple but adorable cards are so much fun to make, with even the youngest children being able to participate.

The panel could see that these cards would be a real talking point on the mantlepiece and founder Casey’s goal to give families quality time together, enjoying the simple pleasure of crafting and making memories really resonated.

This is so much fun!! We love postcards and adding this fingerprint idea is so lovely.

Who:HappySelf Journal

What:A range of children’s journals to promote happiness and positivity

Why:

This selection of vegan covered journals, that provide a safe, gently structured and happy space to practice regular moments of gratitude and mindfulness, really resonated with our parent judges who could see how much they would help kids stay positive and calm.

The large sized book for little kids seemed like a great idea for expressive drawing and larger handwriting, while the teen volume was well considered and pitched to feel companionable, not patronising.

HappySelf Journals are brilliant for boosting confidence, finding resilience and building the tools to navigate the ever-changing social landscape at school.

Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR

In a world where kids sometimes find their senses overwhelmed, these books are great way to find quiet time, reflection and gratitude for the small things that mean so much more than we think.

Eleonore Crompton, Deputy Editor, JUNIOR

A brilliant book - perfect for getting little ones to put on paper what they are thinking and feeling - in a childlike, fun, easy way. Doodling is therapeutic and this book has the perfect layout. A great gift - and great book to help talk through feelings.
