Who:Folpetto

What:Sustainable UV50+ Protective Swimwear and Sunglasses

Why:

This sustainably made premium swimwear brand hugely impressed our judges, not only with its commitment to using eco-friendly fabric made from 100% recycled polyamide and polyester fibre but for its wonderfully chic and playful style.

The Ruffles, co-ords, prints and sunglasses were all much admired and the panel agreed that this was a beautiful collection that every child in the family would feel excited and proud to wear.

A wonderful family business making waves with stunning design and ethical production. Brilliant.

Who:Suncracy

What:Sustainable SPF50+ Swimwear

Why:

Our judges loved the fashion forward designs of these gorgeous swimming costumes, which feature stunning smocking, ruffled skirts, ruching and matching sun hats in mini and adult sizes! A holiday wardrobe dream, this swimwear is also extremely eco-conscious, using Ecowave, a luxurious recycled fibre, that is chlorine, seawater and sun cream resistant.

The panel was excited to hear that this swimwear is made by hand, use waterless, solar powered printing methods and that there are no plastics in their packaging.

Swimwear has been an incredibly strong category this year and Suncracy have been a big highlight for me

Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR

This collection is just divine. Taking swimwear for kids to the next level. Top marks and a clear winner in the category surely.

Who:Apini

What:Chic fun sustainable swimwear for kids

Why:

Love these! Was a regular cry from our JDA judges when they came across this chic, fun, bright striped and bold patterned swimwear from Monaco based brand Apini.

The panel felt the quality was excellent and noted that all zips were lined for comfort and that the over-all attention to detail was superb. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this brand is the fact that the swimwear not only looks really cool and kid friendly but is actually cut specifically for little bodies and nappy wearers, with more generous gussets and room in the hip. Brilliant!

The swimwear that you want in your Instagram holiday snaps. SO cool.

Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR

Love the bold stripes!!

Bonnie and Pepper Van Geel of @pepper.pics

The stripes are just perfect and this whole collection feels really fresh. Love the more generous cut for kid’s bodies.

Eleonore Crompton, Deputy Editor, JUNIOR

The stripes and prints are excellent! I'd happily dress all of my children in this brand. One of my favourite new discoveries from this year’s awards.

Charlotte Kewley, children’s stylist @thelittlestylist

Simply Divine!

Who:Splash About

What:Innovative safety-led swimwear

Why:

Our judges agreed that any families with toddlers and young children taking their first tentative steps into the water, or just in need of some extra confidence, should make a bee-line for Splash About.

The brand’s focus on innovation, technical and scientific design was clear to the panel who commended Splash About for their super comfy, swimwear and swim floats as well as their fantastic swim nappies, which are leak proof and scientifically proven to kill any traces of faecal bacteria before they enter the pool! Little wonder this is a brand recommended by swim schools.
