WHO: UPPAbaby

WHAT: UPPAbaby RIDGE stroller

WHY: UPPAbaby's first release into the all-terrain category really impressed our judges who loved the sleek, lightweight design and versatility of this buggy that can move between woodland terrain and city pavements with ease, with a few simple adjustments. Our testers enjoyed the easy steering and robust tyres of this buggy and felt its good looks would make it very popular with parents with an eye for cool design.

A fabulous pushchair for adventurous parents who want to cover all kinds of terrain with ease.

This is a beautifully designed all-terrain pushchair, which you can combine with the brand's brilliant carrycot and a range of car seats for newborn use. It's a solid, sturdy design that doesn't compromise on quality or style (which sturdy all-terrains can sometimes lack), which I feel confident taking off road. The large bag and hood pocket are covered or zipped, meaning your valuables are kept safe even when you're moving fast or over bumpy ground. The water bottle holder is at an angle, so you can easily pull it out on the move. It's really easy to fold and unfold, and easy to fix the front wheel or adjust the pushbar. At first glance the Ridge looks sturdy but simple, but actually these little details make it a cut above other models.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS OF BEST PUSHCHAIR DESIGN: SILVER

WHO: Silver Cross

WHAT: Silver Cross Reef Travel System

WHY: This stylish, multi-terrain travel system impressed with its enhanced four-wheel suspension, that makes transitioning from park to pavement a breeze. The panel was extremely impressed by the attention to detail and baby’s comfort and were excited to learn that this model has sustainability at its core, using fabrics woven with yarn from recycled plastic bottles! A more ethical and comfortable way to travel.

A good looking, robust buggy that feels super comfy and cocooning.

There are some lovely features here - made with some recycled materials, lovely bamboo fabrics, fairly compact fold, easy-to-adjust features and all-round suspension. As you'd expect from SC, it also looks very smart and of good quality. Also love the fact the carrycot you can use with it can be used for overnight sleeping…

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS OF BEST PUSHCHAIR DESIGN: BRONZE

WHO: Venicci

WHAT: Tinum Upline Stone Beige 3in1

WHY: The JDA panel was impressed with this buggy’s focus on safety, making sure the passenger is as secure and comfortable as possible from newborn to toddler. The lightweight frame that makes steering one handed a pleasure and the easy-to-fold mechanism also scored major points with our judges who knew from experience how stressful it can be when you need to fold up in a hurry. The panel felt this was great for all terrain but especially good for parents nipping about town, hopping on buses and enjoying café life – where a swift fold is so important!

An extremely cool looking buggy and I love the all-round ventilation panel and easy grip handle bar.

I think this is a really nice looking pushchair, combining large, practical wheels with smart fabrics so you're not compromising on style. Being able to fold it with one hand when the seat is facing either direction is a really nice feature.Venicci pushchairs always feel nice to push, thanks to the large wheels and good suspension, so this looks like a great all-rounder option.
