WHO: Axkid

WHAT: Axkid One 2 Car ISOFIX car seat

WHY: Our judges were extremely impressed by The Axkid ONE 2 which is currently the only ISOFIX car seat on the market that allows rear-facing travel up to approximately 7 years of age. Our panel could see the real innovation that had gone into this car seat including its dynamic legroom system, sliding seat technology and a 12 position headrest to name but a few. The news that this car seat has passed one of the world’s toughest crash tests - the Swedish Plus test was extremely reassuring to hear.

A cool looking car seat for parents who want to take advantage of the latest positive research on rear-facing safety for as long as possible.
Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR
If you want rear-facing for longer, this is an excellent option, and given how long you can use it for, it's good value for money too.
Christy McGhee, Reviews and Consumer Editor at Made for Mums @madeformums
A cut above in terms of quality vs the other entries, soft luxury fabrics, sleek design and feels sturdy and solid. Although it’s expensive, it’s obviously built to last and delivers on looks and design as well as performance. The sliding adjuster is particularly cool.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS OF BEST CAR SEAT DESIGN: SILVER

WHO: BeSafe

WHAT: Stretch Rear facing Carseat

WHY: This car seat is called the Stretch for a reason – it has fantastic leg space, letting children stay rear-facing up to the age of seven. Our judges liked the cocooning feel of this seat, which is not only supportive and comfortable but consists of a new and innovative exo frame that creates a protective shell around its passenger, helping to bear the forces of a potential frontal car crash. For anyone who finds an Isofix base too limiting, this seat is a great option, as it can be installed in any car and any seat, giving you the freedom to swap vehicles quickly and easily. Our judges were pleased to see that the installation was also designed to be quick and easy!

I really liked the look and feel of this carseat that has plenty of innovative details, adapts with your growing child and comes in at a comparatively reasonable price.
Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR
A competitive price for a rear facing until 7 years car seat, although it's belt-installed and some parents will prefer the relative ease of using isofix.
Christy McGhee, Reviews and Consumer Editor at Made for Mums @madeformums
It’s large, but relatively narrow which would be good for smaller vehicles. Insert is a good shape, seat is overall longer and deeper for growing with your child… This is another example of the safety-first innovation that’s so important for car seats.
