WHO: Let’s Look at Numbers by Marion Deuchars (Laurence King Publishing - Hachette Children's Group)

WHAT: A beautifully illustrated board book that introduces numbers from 1 to 10 to babies and toddlers.

WHY: Our judges loved this tactile book that is part of a brand-new series of board books called ‘Let's Look At...’ featuring beautiful artwork from bestselling author and illustrator Marion Deuchars. The JDA panel loved the simple finger print birds and fluid pen and ink numbers, which create a sense of immediacy and fun.

I would definitely buy this when having little kids or as a gift. The illustrations and texts are so cute!!

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS FOR BEST BABY BOOK 0-2 YEARS: SILVER

WHO: Jo & Nic's Crinkly Cloth Books

WHAT: Nursery Times - Crinkly Cloth newspapers for babies

WHY:
Our judges loved this crinkly cloth book on so many levels. It works brilliantly as a sensory toy that babies will really engage with, gives an early introduction to reading material and provides plenty of amusement for parents too! The panel was impressed with the quality of the product, and the thoughtful combination of high contrast images, soft fabrics and the accompanying rustling sounds that are so transfixing for tiny babies. As well as providing fun reading content, we could also see this product having an extended life as a prop for role-play.

Love, love, love this product! The perfect gift for babies embarking on a lifetime of reading fun.
Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR
What a great idea and so well executed. A really fun product that has been thoughtfully constructed with a baby’s brain and development in mind and brilliant to have a range of them too. Great packaging that easily fits through a letter box to be sent as a new baby gift, which is something that would attract me as a buyer. Love the idea of the ‘Nursery Times’ too.
