What is the NEX Playground?
The NEX Playground is an interactive, motion-based games console for families that transforms any room into a playful, energetic space where jumping, dancing, stretching and movement are all positively encouraged. One of its standout features is that no controllers are required. Instead, the beautifully designed, ultra-compact console uses an AI-powered motion-tracking camera to follow players’ movements in real time, allowing children – and adults – to control games using their bodies alone.
Should I buy a NEX Playground if I have a Nintendo Switch or Wii?
This is of course an inevitable comparison that you may initially assume – however the NEX Playground does feel distinctly different in its game play form these classic consoles, for one it feels more family focused (and especially good for younger children) and it also eliminates any concerns re online gaming with strangers.
What kind of games can you play?
Fruit Ninja has been a firm favourite in our household, as well as homerun heroes. However, with a whole host of licences including Bluey, Sesame Street, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train your Dragon, it really does feel like there are games for the whole family.
Also, the fact that you can have 4 people playing at the same time makes this console particularly appealing. Great for siblings to play together, family game nights and playdates!
What safety features does the Nex Playground come equipped with?
The platform has been intentionally designed with child safety in mind. NEX Playground is kidSAFE+ and COPPA certified and does not process gameplay footage in the cloud. All motion tracking happens directly on the device itself. Also, every system has a built-in camera cover.

What ages is the Nex Playground suitable for?
The games in the starter bundle are suitable for ages 3+ but it’s not just for young children…

How much does the NEX Playground and games cost?
The NEX Playground starts at £269, which comes equipped with five free starter games so families can begin playing right away.
Games are accessed through an annual Play Pass subscription for £90 or quarterly Play Pass for £45 where you can unlock the full growing library of over 60+ games.
When is the release date for the NEX Playground in the UK?
NEX Playground is available now for pre-order with stock expected 22nd June at Amazon U.K., Argos, and Smyths Toys in the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland.
