Who:Percy & Pop

What:Plastic-free solid shampoo and conditioner bars

Why:

Created by a mum on a search for plastic-free haircare for her own child’s allergies and eczema, Percy & Pop’s shampoo and conditioner bars are a game changer when it comes to bath time. Each bar can replace at least two plastic bottles and is made with 100% natural ingredients, no nasties in sight and totally allergen-free, what’s not to love? The bars are even shaped for little hands, encouraging independence too.

"A more sustainable alternative to bottled shampoo, these sweet-smelling bars create a bubbly lather and leave hair soft and shiny. Such a great travel hack, too."

Why:

The Kids Bathing Co. are on a mission to bridge the gap between baby and adult toiletries, and their collection certainly impressed our judges! These innovatively-designed toiletries feel more grown up and exciting while still being gentle, for children who may have started to reach for adult toiletries. Our panel loved the beautiful and unique scent options, as well as the more sophisticated design of the bottles too.

"For children and tweens that have outgrown their first toiletry products, this well-formulated range comes in sleeker, more sophisticated packaging. And for parents looking to establish simple, healthy skincare habits for their children, it’s excellent value for money."

Winner: JOINT SILVER - Children's Toiletry Collection

Who:The Soap Handler

What:The Clean Stamp easy to hold soap for children

Why:

The Soap Handler is redefining bath times and hand washing with this handle-shaped soap made for little hands. Our judges were thoroughly impressed by the playful yet innovative child-centred design, and felt that it would make bath time more engaging for children, fostering a positive relationship with hygiene and encouraging independence. The panel also praised the use of 100% natural ingredients which are gentle on sensitive skin, top marks all around!

"Why didn’t someone think of this sooner? Making soap easier for little hands to grip encourages confidence and independence at bathtime. The essential oil blend might mean that The Soap Handler is not suitable for children with particularly sensitive skin, but the bars are wonderfully aromatic and make everyday washing feel that little bit more special."

Charlotte Jolly, Creative Director & Junior’s Contributing Beauty & Wellness Editor @mscharliejolly

"Adore this natural look, great for all the family and kids will love to use this. I also love that the brand uses no garish colours, getting children used to a more natural option."

Manon La Greve, Cookbook author and founder of Café Manon, @manonlagreve

"A really impressive design and functionality. The colours are beautiful, too. Looks like a mini sculpture!"

Sonia Haria, Beauty Director of The Telegraph @soniaharia
