Winner:JOINT GOLD - Best Health & Wellbeing Brand

Who:Natch

What:Natch Labs Toothpaste Tabs

Why:

These little glass jars of toothpaste tabs really grabbed our judges’ attention with their playful graphic labels featuring a rather lairy looking monster! The panel could see that these handy tabs would be a great way to encourage kids to take a fresh new look at brushing their teeth and would give them autonomy over the procedure with a lot less mess along the way. The bubblegum flavour is total kid heaven, yet the formula has been carefully developed to care for young teeth containing a natural enamel component to strengthens and remineralize little monster gnashers.

I feel like my daughter would EMBRACE this approach to teeth cleaning, which is currently quite a chore!

I came across these tabs at Pitti Bimbo, the kids trade fair in Italy and I was transfixed. Brilliant design that appeals to kids, eco-friendly packaging and exciting for kids to use.

Bonita Turner, Editor, Junior

My son is a HUGE fan of these tabs which have put a new spin on teeth brushing for him and are great for travelling with. No more sticky tubes of toothpaste that you can’t recycle.

Why:

Our parent judges were excited to learn that these probiotic Baby Drops, enriched with vitamin D are scientifically proven to support digestive comfort and immune health in newborns and babies. I’ve used this product before and felt it did the job.

Lucy Clayton, Write, Podcast host & Dollshouse Maker @mslucyclayton

The science surrounding probiotics and the microbiome is mind-boggling, but BioGaia cuts
through all that with its gentle dose of friendly bacteria for your baby. This well-researched strain is like a shortcut to a more balanced gut microbiota.

Charlotte Jolly, Creative Director & Junior’s Contributing Beauty & Wellness Editor @mscharliejolly

When your baby can’t be soothed and is showing discomfort after feeding time and time again, it is heart breaking and stressful for parents. These baby drops offer a ray of hope and the extensive clinicial trials show that they do have a positive impact.

Who:Thumbsie

What:Thumbsie handmade fabric thumb and finger guards that help deter kids from thumb sucking

Why:

These colourful, handmade fabric thumb and finger guards were a big hit with the JDA judges, especially those who had experienced the frustration of trying to train their children not to such their thumbs. This non-invasive and gentle method for deterring thumb sucking was hailed as genius and the judges could see that this was a well thought out, carefully crafted product that would really help children and parents break the thumb sucking cycle and improve their oral and dental health. The panel was excited to learn that Thumbsie® is recommended by dentists and orthodontists and is an approved product of the Oral Health Foundation.

So excited to see this brand here! I've had two finger suckers and found these extremely effective. Gentle and kind (no poor tasting nail polish which feels punishing) and helps engage and empower the child in stopping a behaviour. A product you probably wouldn't know about unless you needed to... and then you'll LOVE it!

Bridget Mackinnon, Content Creator @bridget.mackinnon

I’ve been here! It’s very hard to encourage a thumb sucker to give it up, so it’s wonderful to see some innovation and enthusiasm in this area

Lucy Clayton, Write, Podcast host & Dollshouse Maker @mslucyclayton

These guards are genius in their simplicity. And they’re backed up by so many success stories, from parents of children who no longer suck their thumbs!

Charlotte Jolly, Creative Director & Junior’s Contributing Beauty & Wellness Editor @mscharliejolly

Such a simple, clever design that will empower children and their parents to break the addictive cycle of thumb sucking!
