Paranorman Universal Pictures £14, 92 mins

Those looking for an acidic antidote to Valentine’s Day slush overload should find it in this spooky stop-motion. Norman may not be the most popular boy in town, but his knack for interacting with the dearly departed could just rescue Blithe Hollow’s townsfolk from imminent zombie calamity. With impressive handcrafted characters and some truly creepy moments, this is perfect film-night fare for slightly older children.
