The Best Instagram Accounts to Follow for Nursery and Kids’ Room Inspo

Want to upgrade the kids' bedrooms? Here are our favourite Insta interior design wizards who know how to make magical children's spaces.

Is it time for a refresh or is there a brand new nursery in progress? Whether you’re making great plans for a tranquil kids’ bedroom or an exciting play room with wow factor, we’ve rounded up our favourite interior design accounts where kids’ rooms are a priority and inspiration pops out of every square. Even if you’re not decorating, this is the perfect way to spend a few lost hours nosing through other people’s houses…

Willa & The Bear

This baby and children’s store curates the most beautiful feed of inspiring kids’ interiors. Their ability to track down the most charming playrooms and nurseries from around the world makes this account a great destination for looking at a wide selection of home making maestros all in one place.

Matilda Goad

The queen of interiors and elevated essentials has managed to weave together practical and magical with new spaces and accessories for her two young children. Clever bespoke stair-gates, beautiful wallpaper, built-in bunks and furniture that can be adapted as her little ones grow are definitely worth a scroll.

Dominy Irving

One of our favourite Junior Design Awards Judges, Dominy, has a warm and welcoming home that is put together with an incredible eye for style and a refreshingly realistic grip on budget. We love her bold use of colour, fabulous wallpaper accents and cute handmade decorations.

My Mulberry House

If escaping to the country is on your wish list, you can live vicariously through Leah Lane’s (another JDA judge we’ve been lucky to have on our panel!) beautifully curated feed, showcasing life in a character-packed English country home. Her daughter and son have the most stunning attic rooms with built-in bunks and clever joinery, while downstairs you’ll find chickens on the flagstones, children in butler sinks and an old fashioned rocking horse brightening up the hallway. Truly magical.

Mooui the Junior Design Award winning brand from Brazil will bring the sunshine into your life. Bright and beautiful patterns with a fresh contemporary feel, dance over their extensive range of wallpapers, linens and soft furnishings creating a wonderfully maximalist and celebratory feel. The bedrooms and play spaces they feature on their Instagram are always uplifting and inspirational.

Interior designer Lonika Chande’s Instagram is a must visit for anyone who loves eclectic, warm and friendly interiors with stand-out wallpaper and uplifting bursts of colour. Children are seen and heard in Lonika’s design schemes and her nurseries and play spaces are particularly enchanting with so many creative flourishes to stimulate little imaginations. A fantastic resource for fresh nursery schemes with a hint of nostalgia.

Tess Newall

This designer is known for her incredible freehand arts and crafts style motifs painted on everything from jewellery boxes to built in beds, as well as her beautiful murals, as seen here in Laura Jackson’s house. Newall’s range of wallpapers and home accessories make the perfect choice for a whimsical nursery scheme and her instagram feed is full of inspiration for the most charming children’s rooms. Tess Newall also has a line of bespoke handpainted children’s chairs which would make a perfect milestone gift.

Hannah Ozburn runs an interior design studio from North Carolina and judging by her stunning Georgian house, she loves to bring her work home with her. Her three children’s bedrooms are a focal point for her playful, cosy style where attention to detail goes beyond. We adore these layers of pattern accented with beautifully upholstered furniture and stunning linens. Followed!

The Junior Design Award winning brand creates stunning bedrooms for children of all ages with a the transformative power of large-scale murals and wallpaper. Hop on their feed for magical jungle-scapes, jumbo florals and plenty of animal magic all styled beautifully with Scandi style furniture and stylish accessories. A fab source of inspiration for anyone looking for a bedroom scheme that really transports kids’ imaginations.

10. Kristin Ellen Hockman

We love this account which showcases the stunning Charleston home of interior designer and children’s book author Kristin Ellen Hockman. You will be cooing over every detail of this Southern Greek Revival house and its gardens but Kristin’s Scandi heritage style decor is especially charming in her daughter Astrid’s bedroom and the places that have become her play areas throughout the home. A dream house that you’ll fill your saved folder with.

Interior designer Lara Clarke takes particular delight in designing children’s spaces and we love her attention to detail when it comes to trimmings, linens and all those finishing touches that make a space feel truly special. Murals, charming wallpapers and built in beds give a lovely cosy feel to all her children’s rooms, which we would describe as classic with a twist. These are rooms that children and parents will love for years.

Interior design star Beata Heuman is know for her fresh original designs that bring together layers of unexpected colour, texture and shape to create character-packed rooms full of personality. Beata’s own kids’ room is a sight to behold with canopy beds and a quirky wall mural that wraps the room in a golden glow. Another room designed for her daughters in her Swedish house has a sweet homespun feel with beautiful attention to texture and vintage furnishings. These are the rooms that childhood memories are made of.

This dedicated children’s decor store showcases their excellent edit of furniture and accessories amongst a series of inspiring interiors shots on their Instagram feed, which is a great place to find interiors inspo for kids of all ages including those tricky tweens and teens. Nordic inspired design is their speciality, so if you like clean lines and a more minimalist aesthetic you’ll love their offerings from the likes of Flexa, Oliver Furniture and Mathy by Bols. This shot from another of their key brands, Oeuf NYC is a particular favourite of ours.

This children focussed interior design service is dedicated to providing exciting bedrooms and play spaces that are not only fabulous to look at but enhance children’s wellbeing through colour, texture and sensory stimulation. We love browsing through the MK Kids insta feed where the sky is the limit when it comes to imaginative, outside the box thinking for kids’ rooms.

We fell in love with this room that looks as though Anne of Green Gables might have slept in it, apart from that fabulous light fitting of course. Merete Coleman is another renowned interior designer who creates layered looks that really sing and spaces that invite you to unwind and relax. Unexpected colour and pattern combinations that really work are a Merete Coleman signature. If you tend towards maximalism, you’ll never want to leave her feed of cosy eclectic spaces that nourish the soul.

If you’re looking for seriously creative, high-spec kids’ spaces that are beautiful to look at as well as being a dream for children to sleep and play in, interior design studio, Four Little Pigs is for you. Their projects really do have the wow factor and look at clever ways of maximising space and most of all fun. A great Instagram account to follow if you’re thinking big for your little ones!

This Junior Design Award winning brand is the perfect mix of nordic inspired design and cosy. Their instagram feed will give you plenty of inspiration in terms of fresh colour combos, mixing textures and finding charming accessories and soft furnishings to create a bedroom scheme that is pared back, yet fun. The brand’s collaborations with stylish parents, mean you get to peek into other people’s super creative kids’ spaces too.

The go-to online store for Australian design is a wonderful resource for uplifting, fun and cool pieces for kids’ rooms. Drenched with Aussie sunshine, brands like KIP & CO, Sage X Clare and Mustard Made jostle alongside each other in their fabulous lifestyle shots, expertly curated by store owner Kate Millar. A great destination for discovering fresh, original and contemporary style that will make everyone smile.

Who wouldn’t want to sleep with bobbing sale boats sending them off to the land of nod? We love this children’s bedroom design from Alice Grace who creates imaginative spaces for little ones, incorporating classic design touchstones like Original BTC ceramic lamps and patchwork quilts that will grow with your child even when they’re too big for bobbing boats.

If you’re going for a sleepover at designer and stylist Violet Dent’s you’ll need to pack your stripy pyjamas. Stripes of all widths, beautiful shades of dusty pink and exquisite vintage trinkets line her bright and airy flat and the spaces that she creates for her daughter feel truly magical. A fireplace overmantel converted into a cot canopy and a mustard play kitchen complete with vintage accessories are just a couple of the sweet touches that will inspire you to channel childlike wonder. A visual treasure trove.
