Ginger is also great for early pregnancy nausea and sickness – so we can’t think of any better reason to drink up!
The experts at Belvoir Fruit Farms have pulled out all the stops to develop a range of alcohol-free cocktails that contain their own Belvoir cordials or lightly sparkling presses which are all made using the finest natural ingredients and contain no artificial sweeteners, colourings, flavourings or preservatives.
In fact they are so good you can be drinking them well into the New Year when all thoughts turn to fresh starts, a healthier lifestyle and for many, a Dry January. But, for now lets get shaking up these festive drinks…
Festive Ginger Mocktails ideal for pregnant woman and new mums
Spicy Red Head Mocktail
A tangy, yet refreshing mocktail with sweet maple syrup running through
- 200ml Belvoir Ginger Beer
- 50ml Fresh Grapefruit juice
- 30ml Maple syrup
- Top up with Belvoir Ginger Beer
- Caramel shard, grapefruit slice, mint to garnish, optional
Method
Pour the ingredients into a tall tumbler over some ice cubes. Mix with a spoon and top with Belvoir Ginger Beer
Add a caramel shard, grapefruit slice, and fresh mint to garnish.
Spicy Honey, Lemon and Ginger Mocktail
Warming and tangy - this will surely keep about any winter bugs
- 50ml Belvoir Farm Honey, Lemon and Ginger Cordial
- 50ml Fresh orange juice
- 50ml Fresh lemon juice
- 1tsp Tumeric
- A pinch Chilli powder
- Tonic water, to taste
- Orange slice and Frozen ginger (grated) tio garnish, optional
Method
Mix the Honey, Lemon and Ginger Cordial, orange juice, lemon juice, tumeric, and chilli powder in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Pour over ice and top with tonic water to taste.
Garnish with a slice of orange juice and grated frozen ginger.
Ginger Spice Mocktail
This warming tipple uses up those Christmas staples - cranberry jelly, lemons and apple juice
- 40ml Belvoir Ginger Cordial
- 40ml Lemon juice
- 120ml Cloudy apple juice
- 1tbsp Cranberry and port jelly
- 160ml Boiling water
- Grated nutmeg, bay leaf or sliced ginger to garnish, optional
Method
Mix all the ingredients in a heat proof vessel with a handle.
Garnish with a bit of grated nutmeg, a lovely bay leaf sprinkled with dried spices or a slice of fr4esh ginger to give it an amazing smell… Mmm!
Spiced Ginger Hot Toddy
Make this with a non-alcoholic whiskey and you'll won't feel like you are missing out on this winter classic
- 1 Cup Water
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 1.5tbsp Star anise
- 1.5tbsp Lemon juice
- 2-3 tbsp non-alcoholic whiskey or alternative
- 2-3tbsp Belvoir Farm Ginger Cordial
Method
Add water, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves into a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Pour the non-alcoholic whiskey into the glass, mug or thermos, along with the Ginger Cordial.
Strain the contents of the saucepan and pour the liquid into the glass with a slice of apple, orange and rosemary.
Blueberry & Blackcurrant 'Mocktail' Mule
A sweet and refreshing long drink to enjoy with the family
- 30ml Belvoir Blueberry & Blackcurrant Cordial
- 30ml Lime juice
- Belvoir Ginger Beer to taste
- Ice and Sprig of mint to garnish optional
Method
Fill a long glass three quarters with ice. Pour in the Belvoir Blueberry & Blackcurrant Cordial and the lime juice, stir to combine all ingredients well.
Top with Belvoir Ginger Beer and garnish with a sprig of mint. Simple as that!
