Christmas Breakfast: Eggy Raisin Bread for Kids

This recipe is a real weekend winner and taken from Annabel Karmel’s Fun, Fast and Easy Children’s cookbook. An essential family cookbook filled easy-to-make recipes to get the family cooking together. Inside, you’ll find everything from Hidden Vegetable Bolognese to Teddy Bear Burgers, as well as nutritionally balanced snacks and sweets like oat and raisin cookies and fruity ice lollies.

Method

Step 1

Crack the egg into a shallow bowl. Beat with a fork to mix the yolk into the white.

Step 2

Dip the raisin bread fingers into the egg so that they are coated completely. Leave them to soak until all the egg has been absorbed.

Step 3

Meanwhile, melt the butter or heat the oil in a small frying pan over a medium heat.

Step 4

Add the fingers to the pan and fry for 2 minutes on each side, until golden.

Step 5

Serve with berries.
