If you picture little royals frolicking in their English country gardens and playing hide and seek in the orangery, it’s more than likely they’ll be wearing beautiful classic dresses and buster suits in your mind’s eye. The kind of clothes that Pepa London are known for.

Famous for dressing royal children, including Princess Charlotte and Prince George for Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews, Pepa London has just unveiled a stunning limited-edition capsule collection in collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that cares for sites including the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace — honouring royal childhood and the timeless traditions of British ceremonial dress.

The Pepa London x Historic Royal Palaces capsule collection will be available this July at pepalondon.com, Pepa London stores in Belgravia and  Palm Beach, as well as a dedicated Pop-Up space in Harrods in Knightsbridge.

To see these dresses up close, to witness the craftsmanship and sentimental value stitched into their seams, was a privilege. We wanted to take those memories...of gardens, giggles, and childhood rituals and reimagine them through our own lens of British elegance and craftsmanship.

Pepa London founder, Pepa Gonzalez was given the unique opportunity to explore the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, cared for by Historic Royal Palaces at Hampton Court Palace. With almost 10,000 items dating from the 16th century to today, this nationally important collection reveals not only the grandeur of royal life, but its more intimate, personal details, reflected in everything from state robes and gilded coronets to hand-stitched nursery garments.

Among the most fascinating pieces were a pair of matching Liberty print floral cotton dresses worn by Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret in the 1930s. These childhood pieces, symbols of early sisterhood and gentle formality, now feature in the acclaimed Dress Codes exhibition running at Kensington Palace until 30 November 2025 — and serve as a direct reference point for several pieces in the Pepa London collection.

If you’re looking for exquisitely made party dresses or classic bridesmaid and page boy outfits, Pepa London have surpassed themselves with the nostalgic beauty of this collection, which errs on the lighter side of tradition with plenty of movement and natural fabrics and pretty embroidery.

A portion of proceeds from this collection will support Historic Royal Palaces, so any purchase will be celebrating history in multiple ways, helping to preserve these beautiful buildings and gardens for future generations.
