Monsoon launches Mini Monsoon, a sustainable range designed by kids for kids

The high street favourite has got right to the heart of what kids want to wear - by asking them...

Fresh, cool, modern, with a sense of humour. That’s how we’d describe Monsoon’s brand new, sustainably made, casual wear collection called Mini Monsoon. The high street store, perhaps better known for its smarter and more bohemian offerings (still very much part of their lexicon), has pushed its way into kids’ casual daywear with a little bit of help from its friends.

From the outset, Monsoon asked a panel of children to tell them what they would like to see in their wardrobes and have more than delivered with a selection of denim, fleece, velour and corduroy pieces that boast uniquely creative twists, lots of colour and most importantly, ease and freedom of movement for playing in.

We love the neon contrast zips, embroidered patches, cool prints and textures that run through this whole collection and can see that the oversize jersey pieces and soft velour co-ords will be a huge hit with kids that fall into this 3 -13 years age group. A wide age range to satisfy with one collection but we think they’ve done it.

Starry metallic jacket silver, £55

Colour block puffer coat multi, £50

Favourite pieces amongst the Junior team include the silver puffs coat (see above) and a purple corduroy mini skirt which will look great with bare legs and tights and a camouflage fleece that splices neons with khakis, browns and blues.

We can see these clothes being a huge hit with kids and parents with a more modern aesthetic who might not have had Monsoon on their radar before.
