You’ll be forgiven for thinking that sustainable childrenswear brand Frugi already stocks shoes. Much-loved and ingrained in our eco-fashion conscious it’s easy to assume this nearly 20 year year old brand, already have our kids feet (organically) covered. SO you’ll be just as excited as us to see the launch of its fabulous debut footwear collection in collaboration with Clarks.
Could you get two more much-loved UK brands together?
Fusing Clarks’ expert knowledge in construction and shape, along with Frugi’s playful eye for colour and design, this range represents both brands’ first foray into organic footwear for children.
The Clarks x Frugi collection features a range of rip-tape plimsoles, hi-tops and T-bar pumps in bright and fun designs including beautiful florals, vibrant rainbows and ocean creatures. Perfect for summer, they are suitable for pre-walkers, first step-takers and adventurous kids of all ages.
We were incredibly excited to have this opportunity to combine our shared ethos of producing long lasting ‘hand me down’ quality footwear for children to wear and play in, and pass down again and again. Working together with the Clarks product team through the design process was a joy; bringing our sustainable design approach to create footwear that is not only beautifully colourful but also kinder to the planet.
Clarks and Frugi’s shared vision to care for the planet meant more sustainable and recyclable material choices being used in every component, from soles to laces and threads to eyelets. Each shoe’s canvas uppers are made from 100% organic cotton with 100% organic cotton lining, which makes them kinder to feet – allowing tiny toes to breathe – and kinder to the planet too. What’s more, they are machine washable, which helps keep them looking as good as new for longer and that’s always a good thing.
Did you know...
Organic cotton uses 62% less energy than conventional cotton, and not only is it better for the farmers who pick it and the little ones wearing it, growing organic cotton is also better for the planet, helping to combat climate change by creating healthier soils, ecosystems and cleaner waterways.
