Summer Turns Pretty
We have to say we were surprised to hear about this latest collaboration from H&M. Not their usual meeting of modern minds with a cool new artist or an edgy sportswear inspired designer but a sweet and thoughtful celebration of the nostalgic designs of an iconic British brand, born in the 1950s and still loved in homes and wardrobes today.
Parents who remember being dressed in Laura Ashley when they were little and vintage enthusiasts who know the cult status of an original 1970’s Laura Ashely dress will love this collection, which brings together classic Laura Ashley floral prints and silhouettes with fresh riffs on the theme from H&M – think lemon motifs and sweet slogans amidst the ditsy print cuteness. The collection is made from breathable easy-to-wash fabrics like poplin voile, crinkle jersey and seersucker and has been designed to be durable – something that Laura would definitely have approved of. With super cute co-ord sets, sundresses, swimwear and accessories for babies and kids, this summer looks like it’s going to be extremely pretty.
This new collaboration with Laura Ashley is beautifully rooted in British tradition.
"So many people have a personal connection to Laura Ashley and this exciting collaboration has allowed us to introduce a sense of nostalgia and heritage design to a new generation."
