- Open in the morning: If you decide to include chocolate and sweet treats, you might want to consider opening their Christmas Eve box together in the morning rather than saving it for just before bedtime. This helps to avoid those over-excited sugar-highs too. Or, maybe add in an easy baking kit so they can make, wait and then eat some homemade treats.
- Open in the afternoon: Want to encourage a fun and relaxed Christmas Eve afternoon? Then consider what you place in their box. If you intend to open it after lunch, ensure the contents are tailored around creating a peaceful but, exciting atmosphere. Think gentle crafts and games, settling down for movie with a cosy blanket, or how about including the ingredients for some popcorn and marshmallow topped hot chocolates?

Think cosy pyjamas, festive slippers, a relaxing bubble bath or bomb for older kids and a new story book that you can snuggle up and read together by the light of the Christmas tree.
