Pretty as a picture

The tradition for Easter bonnets originates from Victorian times when families paraded in the park at Easter and fashionable ladies sported ever-more-decorative hats. Get your children to form their own Easter parade once they’ve finished making these fun bonnets.

You will need
Coloured card
Selection of tissue paper, paper doilies, crêpe paper bows, tissue paper flowers, Easter chicks
Ribbon

Cut a circular shape out of your chosen coloured piece of card. Then decorate with as much extravagance as your child can muster with the tissue paper, doilies and so on. Finish the bonnet by attaching two lengths of ribbon. Try it on your child at this point to get the correct position for the ribbons.
