We love it when magic happens and that’s just how we’d describe Cath Kidston’s new collection, inspired by one of Roald Dahl’s most moving and inspiring characters, Matilda. This alliance of Quentin Blake’s evocative illustrations with Cath Kidston’s clever print and design is beautifully conceived and we’re sure Matilda fans will be clamouring for the wonderful mix of limited edition clothes and lifestyle pieces.

For Cath Kidston’s Creative Director Holly Marler, this collaboration was a dream come true, especially as the mother of two little girls.

I felt really aligned with Matilda for a few reasons. I believe as a print designer you are a raconteur, and here at Cath Kidston we always like to tell stories with our prints. Quentin Blake is an absolute legend, the BEST at this storytelling through illustration, with such a loose and dynamic style but with real detail in the emotion of the stories and characters. We felt truly humbled to work with his drawings and Roald Dahl’s storytelling. I have two young daughters and to celebrate this amazing character felt really, really special.

Little wonder then that there are matching dresses for mamas and minis in the collection, as well as the cosy PJ’s that Cath Kidston always does so well and lots and lots of accessories and homewares so that Matilda fans can celebrate this much loved character in every part of their life!
