The Junior Design Awards 2023 are HERE!!

A very big welcome to our annual Junior Design Awards programme. Whether its your first time here, you're returning after a break, or you've been with us from the start... HELLO! As ever, we are extremely excited about our awards but this year feels particularly special for Junior as we'll be celebrating our 25th Anniversary!

Junior was born as a beautiful print magazine in December 1997 and printed 167 gorgeous issues until it grew into the online magazine you read today. A forerunner all those years ago in children's magazines - it also went on the set the trend for editorial lifestyle awards. Now, in their 12th year, the Junior Design Awards continue to be the most esteemed accolade in the lifestyle awards arena, recognised by brands, clients and consumers alike. Our awards celebrate, champion and support all that is beautiful in a child's life - from the finest fashions to beautiful interiors and design-led kids books to luxury family travel. Not only does a #JDA reward and recognise a brand for excellence in their field but it is a trusted and highly regarded seal-of-style for our readers and consumers who know that any product or brand bearing a #JDA disc is truly loved by all of us at Junior and our esteemed panel of judges (to be announced very soon!).

What’s planned for 2023

Your unwavering support for the annual Junior Design Awards always amazes and humbles us. Year after year, we receive record numbers of entrants, give out a whopping 300+ awards and always discover so many new, exciting and gorgeous brands. The last few years since the pandemic has reinforced just how much the Junior Design Awards mean to everyone and how important it is to recognise and reward the incredible hard work and talent in our industry.

Over the years we've updated and reinvigorated our existing awards so that they not only reward and acknowledge the very best in design products on the market for parents, parents-to-be and children but reflect the varying nature of modern family life. This year we have 78 awards up for grabs across 7 categories and it is going to be so exciting to see who emerges as the best-of-the-best this year. The inspiration behind the Junior Design Awards 2023…

It always starts with the logo. Our iconic design and branding hasn’t changed over the years to keep it instantly recognisable – although the colour always gets a refresh.

We are always influenced by current trends but are also aware that we have an illustrious body of work in our Junior archive, so merging the two is what we always aim to do. This year we took inspiration from all the Junior Design Awards editorial shoots that have been used over the last 6-7 years for the awards to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We fused this with the Pantone Colour of the Year: Viva Magenta.

Described by Pantone as a 'brave and fearless, pulsating colour whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration. Rooted in nature, this hybrid colour is powerful, empowering and assertive (but not aggressive), Ultimately, this electrifying, boundary-less shade promotes optimism, joy and strength.' We felt this summed up the our awards perfectly.
