Discover what lurks in the interactive rock pool, meet a deep sea diver and touch a real shark tooth (if your brave enough!) as the Deep Sea World team travel to Hamley’s in Glasgow every Friday and Saturday during the Summer holidays.

Gallery Fun

The National Museum of Scotland is throwing wide the doors of its new children's gallery, Imagine, with lots of hands-on exhibits to enjoy.

Let’s Pretend

Miniature thespians can hone their craft with a series of fun drama classes aimed at children aged between three and five years old at Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, Peebles.

The Amazing Bubble Show
August 4–29
Float away with an afternoon of mesmerising bubble entertainment at C Too, Edinburgh every day during the Fringe Festival. Gigantic bubbles, bubbles with people inside them, edible bubbles, square bubbles, bubble sculptures…need we say more?

Children, Oceana creatures

The ocean is like a jungle with kelp forests and coral reefs, where many small creatures such as sea urchins, clams and starfish live. At the Children's Arts Centre in East Kilbride, children can explore the different creatures of the deep and create a sea creature in modroc. 

A Love Of literature

Bring your budding bookworms along to the Edinburgh International Book Festival who are laying on a special children’s programme including storytelling, lively entertainment and games with some of Britain’s best loved children’s authors.

Wild At Art
August 18–September 6
Tigers, hornbills, orang utans and crocodiles are among the 120 (hand-painted) animals to move into Jungle City at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Ditsy Little Cup Cakes
August 27
Little ladies and gents can take inspiration from a tea-set exhibition at the Museum of Childhood, Edinburgh and create their own delectable plates of cakes from paper and modelling materials. Simply scrumptious!

It’s For Kidz Festival
August 27-28
A festival which is just ‘for kidz’ held at M&D’s theme park by Strathclyde Loch. Activities include a massive sandpit, craft stations, colouring-in areas, children's DJs. Plus, Peppa Pig and George will be making appearances throughout the day.
