Versace launched it's new children's fashion collection for next spring summer, Young Versace, with a champagne reception in Florence at a fabulous palazzo on the River Arno in the centre of town. One huge room had been transformed into a Willy Wonka-style wonderland, with huge fake candy treats and psychedelic-looking mushrooms amongst the clothing displays. Unlike the usual press buffet there was a table of sweet treats for guests! True to Versace style, the clothing is decorated with strong prints and crystal embellishment and there is a full range of matching accessories. Versace fans will love to dress their little ones in this collection. For girls, there is a softer line in a lilac and pink print with a swirling Baroque design for frilled skirts, cap sleeved dresses, trousers and a trench coat whilst boys colours feature a strong acid yellow and vibrant primary blue. Both ranges have styles in black and white with crystal embellishment in signature Versace patterns. The shapes are fairly traditional styles but it is the strength of the patterns and colour that will draw customers to the range. We were given some Versace removable tattoos and I found a young willing model with some already on her arm; they are sure to be a popular addition.
