1. What about a trip to Santa’s Lapland?
For around 6 weeks a year you can take your children on the ultimate adventure to Santa’s home in Lapland. Whilst you’re there you will not only take a snow mobile to meet the big man himself but you’ll also visit an Ice bar, watch an elf show in Igloo Fantasia, go on an amazing husky ride AND take a traditional reindeer sleigh ride too.
You can journey to magical Lapland for a once in a lifetime chance to meet Father Christmas from £929 per adult, reduced rates for children available. Price includes three nights at Saariselkä Inn with flights and transfers, departing in December 2018 from a choice of UK airports. Santa’s Lapland staff will also provide the whole family with thermal clothing so they’re fully equipped for the enchanting adventures that lie ahead!
You can find out more information by visiting Santa’s Lapland or call 01483 791 915.
2. How about a Spa Break?
The team at Les Rives d’Argentière – a hamlet of luxury 5* chalets in Chamonix, Mont-Blanc – recommend heading to Chamonix for a Spa Break.
What could be more magical than sitting in a stunning outside hot tub or thermal spa surrounded by a snowy landscape. Whilst we aren’t sure about the recommendation of trying out the traditional wooden saunas before rolling in the snow (even if it is great for the circulation), we do think a trip to a spa in the mountains, whilst the husband took the kids tobogganing would be pure bliss.
The Pre Saint Didier thermal spa might be in Italy but it is less than an hour away from Chamonix and includes outdoor and indoor pools and sauna, a Turkish bath, relaxation rooms with chromotherapy and aromatherapy, and a veranda with a panoramic view of Mont Blanc.

3. Is Airboarding for you?
With Pierre & Vacances you can book winter activity ideas such as airboarding, snowbiking, dogsledding, archery, team snowball fights, exploring an Inuit camp with igloos (our personal favourite idea) or snowmobiling? Their mantra is that each day can offer a new experience and make every day unforgettable. The team can book everything for you on site and all the info about what you might want to do and where can be found at your resort reception desk.
Airboarding itself is apparently body-boarding on snow and you zoom down a slope on a specially designed air inflated board.Suitable for adventurous 6-year-olds and above – here at Junior we think we know a lot of kids who would love this!
