The Space Race: 50 out of this world buys for children

That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.

No prizes for guessing who said that (it was astronaut Neil Armstrong, by the way). The immortal line spoken on 20th July 1969 as the first human stepped onto the Moon. This was 50 years ago! We know, can you believe it?

Followed by Buzz Aldrin who became the second man to land on the moon that historic day. We now know the actual first word's said on the moon were "the Eagle has landed" but, the above infamous line was then said when Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon's surface. They explored the moon for less than three hours, collecting 22 kilograms of rocks for study back on earth. When they returned to earth (in a command module spacecraft powered by Michael Collins) they were all welcomed home as celebrities, and international heroes.
