BORN Utrecht, 1955
DEFINING MOMENT After a divine visitation by an angel, Miffy is born. "The Bunny pair were overjoyed. Quite soon the baby came. WIth ears so long and fur so white and Miffy was her name."
WHY WE LOVE MIFFY
- She's so sweet and innocent - makes you want to say "aah" and give her a cuddle. (Handily, there's a cute range of soft toys so your child can do just that!). Surely, she's the ultimate Bunny Girl!
- The stories are always gentle and reassuring, even when dealing with difficult topics like being in hospital or death of a loved one, all perfectly pitched for the youngest audience.
- She's brave and heroic, cute but not too girly: she wants to be a pilot and make things like her Grandpa (When I'm Big); hangs out at art galleries (Miffy, erm, At The Gallery) and, in true toddler fashion, thinks nothing of whipping off all her clothes (Miffy In The Tent).
FACT FANS Bruna's distinct bold artwork is really groovy, inspired by his favourite artist, Matisse.
