H&M are always striving to improve their eco-friendly status and their latest Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold newborn collection is one of their most ambitiously green collections to date.

Designed to be fully compostable once they have been loved and lived in on repeat, these baby separates are made from organic cotton and feature "Room to grow" details such as adjustable waists and foldable waistbands and cuffs, meaning that they can be worn for longer. Also included in the collection is a new, innovative bodysuit, made completely without metal or plastic trims, for super easy nappy-changing and less land-fill.

We’re so proud to achieve the Cradle to Cradle Certified® certification at the Gold level again with this sweet and cosy collection. I also love the illustrations of little bumblebees and orange flowers that grow into a bountiful garden. For us, the whole collection is proof that innovation, style and circularity can be combined wonderfully.

As well as being gorgeous to look at, this is such a great collection for starting baby off on an eco-friendly path and will give eco-conscious parents who want to shop greener, a little more peace of mind. Each product in the newborn collection was assessed across five categories of sustainability performance. These include Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air and Climate Protection, Water and Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness. H&M worked closely with supply chain partners to ensure that each product was created using materials and chemicals that are safe for people and the planet and designed without plastic or metal trims. These items are also manufactured promoting renewable energy and clean air projects. All materials and components, including the printing pigments, were carefully chosen to ensure that the whole collection is fully recyclable -even in a home compost!

>> The Cradle to Cradle collection will be in stores and online at H&M on 6 April 2023
