Bugaboo launches the Ant: Here's what you need to know

It seems great things really do come in small packages. As Bugaboo - possibly the most coveted stroller brand for modern parents - gets set to launch its most compact pushchair ever: the Bugaboo Ant. This new member of the Bugaboo family is the first compact-travel stroller for the Dutch brand.

It would be safe to say that over the last 20 years, yes 20 years, Bugaboo have been at the forefront of stroller innovation and it really was only a matter of time before we saw them design and produce a more compact, travel-friendly stroller. Not that the Bee, Fox or even the Cameleon aren't the perfect buggies for every occasion but, with a brand like Bugaboo - who never stop inventing, developing, testing, and manufacturing products - its seems their aim to make life with babies and toddlers just that little bit easier has been achieved with bells on with the Ant.

We’ve observed people travelling, not only by plane but by public transport, carrying their kids, their strollers and all their stuff and we thought that Bugaboo should have a product that suits parents better than what’s currently out there.

We all know Bugaboo combines beautiful design with long-lasting functionality - they have scooped many a Junior Design Award over the years, after all - but, what makes the Ant, the new stroller on the block exciting - especially for Bugaboo fans, is the size. The Ant is so compact that it easily fits into the overhead compartment of a train, aeroplane or into the smallest of car boots because its compact folded size makes it super portable. What's more, once folded, it can even be used as a handy pull-along trolley, rolling effortlessly through the airport or station. The luggage options on the Bugaboo Ant mean that you can actually leave your items in the basket when you fold it down, so it works a bit like a suitcase.

YES, it may be small in size but of course, it is big on details. It offers a smooth, stable and stylish ride - the one-handed steering allows parents to glide through every twist and turn. From the height-adjustable handlebar to the all-wheel suspension and reversible ergonomic seat with supportive backrest, the Bugaboo Ant is packed full of smart and thoughtful features that make travelling with babies, toddlers and children easier and yes, just a little more enjoyable for all.

I think this is a new step for us. Bugaboo is all about innovation and new products. Probably in the next few years you’ll see some really cool new innovations for parents. Not only strollers, we are working on a few other ideas as well, which is really exciting. Hopefully, we can give parents a lot of confidence so they can keep on living their lives and continue to travel with their kids. I mean that’s what drives us every day!

Just like its namesake, the Ant stroller is small in size but, of course built to last. Strong, robust and with all the Bugaboo specs you would expect, the Ant gives parents the confidence to handle even the toughest of journeys and looks set to mark a new industry standard when it comes to travel strollers.

The Bugaboo Ant will be available on limited release in the UK at John Lewis from 1st July. It will then be available on bugaboo.com and all approved Bugaboo retailers across the UK from 2nd September.
