1. Boori (above)

At number one had to be the brand I initially went for with my first daughter, Boori. What edged me towards this brand was the spaciousness of their cot beds and the vast range of matching furniture they offer. I wanted longevity in the cot I was going to buy and most, if not all of their cots convert into cot beds so you know they are going to get used for at least 3-4 years. They are durable and long lasting: I have been super happy with mine since I bought it.

5. LIL GAEA

I like to bring some up and coming brand onto the radar and Lil Gaea is a new innovative make whose cots really caught my eye. The Collection range of 'Heroes' are inspired by the simplicity of a cardboard box and the possibilities of what a child can turn it into in his imaginative world. These are pieces with a really creative spin to them. My favourites include the Fox E cot and the Macaroon stools.
