HAPPY 120th ANNIVERSARY PETER RABBIT!
120 years of Peter Rabbit! 120 years of mishchief! Goodness time flies when you’re having fun. The first of Beatrix Potter’s stories to be published, Peter Rabbit has become a household name with books, television series and films all dedicated to this mischievous little bunny and his scrapes in Mr McGregor’s Garden. Peter Rabbit first featured in a series of illustrated letters that Beatrix Potter sent to the children of her old governess Annie Carter Moore, who later persuaded Potter to publish them as books. A reason to keep on posting hand written letters if ever we heard one.
Luckily, the children had kept the letters in pristine condition and they made the perfect beginnings for the whole series of the Beatrix Potter books we know and love today. Peter Rabbit with his sweet cotton tail has somehow stolen the show and continues to entertain children today who love the stories of Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter the little rebel in a tailored powder blue jacket.
