King of Snacks: the ultimate cheddar 'gorge' cheese on toast

- 2 adults and 2 children
- 225g Cheddar cheese of choice grated
- 25g butter or margarine
- 1tsp mustard powder
- 4tbsp orcestershire sauce or water
- 4 slices chunky bread
- salt and pepper to taste
- parsley for garnish
- STEP 1
Place the grated cheddar cheese, butter/margarine, mustard powder, worcestershire/water into a heavy-based saucepan and season to taste. Heat very gently and stir until a creamy mixture is obtained.
- STEP 2
Preheat the grill and lightly toast the bread on one side only.
- STEP 3
Pour and evenly spread the cheese sauce over the untoasted sides of the bread and grill on a tray until golden and bubbly. Garnish with parsley and serve with salad.
