We have to say, our heart did a little leap when we saw this latest launch from Johnson & Johnson. Paper based, refill cartons from one of the biggest, mass producing baby care companies in the world? Fantastic! Three of their top selling baby care products, that millions of consumers are committed to, are now available in easy to recycle, eco-friendly refill versions that not only help reduce plastic but also help customers save money. Prices start at £4.25 for a litre carton so you really get a lot of product to play with. This is really is big news for Johnson & Johnson and their customers and we're hoping it's just the start of a whole avalanche of copy-cats across the whole of Johnson & Johnson and their competitors.

Hannah French, Head of Marketing for Johnsons & Johnsons says:

We are excited to be providing families with our first paper-based, recyclable, and refillable baby product. JOHNSON´S® Baby really believe that it doesn’t have to cost the earth, and one of our steps towards this is the launch of our refillable range where we’re able to empower parents and provide them with simple options to be planet conscious whilst also making it affordable and an easy switch within their daily routines. Ultimately our goal is to develop and innovate to be more environmentally friendly, making it easier for families to make more sustainable choices with our gentle products now having 90% less plastic.

We were excited to learn that in the past 12 months all bottles across the Johnson's Baby range have become recyclable, and since 2017 the plastic sticks in their cotton buds have been removed and are now made with 90% recycled material removing 270 tonnes plastic per year. Although there is still so much to be done in terms of protecting our planet from being overwhelmed by plastic, progress is definitely being made.

Congratulations Johnson & Johnson. We can't wait to see what you do next.
