This recipe is a real weekend winner and taken from Annabel Karmel’s Fun, Fast and Easy Children’s cookbook. Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice raisin bread, cut into 3 fingers
  • a knob of butter or splash of sunflower oil

Method

  • STEP 1

    Crack the egg into a shallow bowl. Beat with a fork to mix the yolk into the white.

  • STEP 2

    Dip the raisin bread fingers into the egg so that they are coated completely. Leave them to soak until all the egg has been absorbed.

  • STEP 3

    Meanwhile, melt the butter or heat the oil in a small frying pan over a medium heat.

  • STEP 4

    Add the fingers to the pan and fry for 2 minutes on each side, until golden.

  • STEP 5

    Add the fingers to the pan and fry for 2 minutes on each side, until golden.

  • STEP 6

    Serve with berries.
