Semi-skimmed or whole cows’ milk, or soya milk can be used to make these ice lollies. Remember, the higher the fat content of the milk, the creamier they will be. Natural yoghurt or fromage frais could also be used, either to replace the milk or mixed with it in equal quantities. You could also use fruit-flavoured milk or yoghurt, but first check labels for their sugar content, as some can contain quite large amounts.

Ingredients

  • 1 small banana peeled
  • 150g strawberries
  • 200ml milk

Method

  • STEP 1

Cut the banana into four pieces. Hull the strawberries and cut any large ones into halves. Put the banana and strawberries in a liquidiser, add the milk and blend until smooth. Pour into eight 50ml (2fl oz) moulds and freeze until almost firm. Push a stick into each mould and freeze until solid.
