WHAT: A range of sustainably produced puzzles, games, soft toys, crafts and activities for children and babies.

WHY: Our judges all loved the story of Petit Collage founder Lorena, creating a little owl family collage made from wood for a pregnant friend and this inspiring the launch of the company and it’s name! The reassurance that this now global brand are not only producing beautiful, fun and educational toys that delight children and parents but are keeping their foot firmly in the sustainability camp, really impressed our judges. Their latest collection is over 90% plastic free, with many products being recyclable or made from recyclable materials.

You can tell a Petit Collage product a mile off. Always beautifully designed, highly creative and visually pleasing.

WHAT: Stylish and educational wooden puzzles from Seoul, Republic of Korea based toy design studio oioiooi for children aged 3 yrs +

WHY: These 30 piece, number block puzzles made from sustainably sourced wood and packaged in earth friendly paper, delighted our judges who felt they were beautifully crafted, stunning to look at and great fun for children to play with. They loved the fact that the numbers and sweet, painted characters would look wonderful displayed on a shelf as well as being something that would really engage children and get them thinking about numbers and shapes. A truly creative and many layered toy that can be passed down.

WHAT: The world's leading manufacturers of timeless wooden toys that are both educational and fun to play with.

WHY: The broad smiles on our judges faces when they reached the Brio table were testament to the huge affection felt for this classic wooden toy brand whose toys, including their famous trains and train tracks have been a much loved household staple for years. In fact, BRIO has been around for over 100 years! Our judges loved how visually appealing, robust and tactile these toys are and how the they encourage interactive play and the development of fine motor skills as well as being excellent fun. The panel was excited to learn that all the wood featured in BRIO toys is FSC Certified, meaning it is traceable and originates from responsibly managed forests.

WHO: Albetta - Sustainable Toy Collection AW20

WHAT: A new range of certified pure organic cotton accessories, including cuddle toys and rattles, and terry-towelling "Adorable Animal" buddies.

WHY: Our judges loved the story of this kitchen table business that started 21 years ago and has now grown into a substantial team of 150, largely female staff, hand-making toys in an ethically accredited factory in Saigon. The panel thought the toys themselves were absolutely gorgeous and loved the soft, tactile feel, multiple textures and the incredibly cute faces of the characters that all children would feel a connection to. The original designs made these toys stand out from the crowd and the judges were particularly enamoured by the soft toys that had a mini me tucked in a little pocket on their front. Adorable!
