WINNER OF BEST PUSHCHAIR DESIGN: GOLD

WHO: Bugaboo
WHAT: The Bugaboo Fox 2
WHY: There’s no doubt about it, the Bugaboo still has the power to draw parents in with its cool good looks and those distinctive looking easy steer wheels. Our judges were certainly drawn to the Bugaboo Fox 2, which is part of the brand’s All-Terrain range and builds on years of smart design and rigorous testing. The panel loved the light weight feel, the ease of steering - even with one hand - and the robust all terrain wheels. The extra thought that had gone into baby’s comfort was also impressive. Advanced central-joint suspension and additional rear-wheel suspension gave a super smooth ride while high quality, soft to the touch fabrics and a deep hood made the carry cot and seat unit feel cosy and luxurious. A great buggy for 0-4 years.

With chic details that rival products that cost twice as much, this is a real hidden gem that’s particularly good for families that are short on space. My top tip is to invest in the additional cosy pack: the footmuff turns the lie-flat seat into a cocoon that’s perfect for a newborn, saving you from having to buy an additional carrycot.

WINNER OF BEST PUSHCHAIR DESIGN: BRONZE

WHO: Inglesina
WHAT: Inglesina Aptica XT
WHY: This sleek, contemporary looking buggy really caught our judges’ attention and the robust high quality finish was admired by all. The one-hand fold mechanism was easy to operate and steering was a dream while the patented independent suspension adjustment system on each wheel that adapts to different surfaces and reduces vibrations was easy to operate. Perhaps one of the most interesting details that set this buggy apart from the others was the addition of a handy crib stand so that the generous carry cot can be carried into the bedroom, placed on the stand and used as a bassinet. Our judges thought it was fantastic that this would potentially save on the purchase of a crib and that the stand could also be used to create a steady high chair with the addition of the car seat. Very clever.

The added crib stand is a great idea!
