WHAT: Butterfly

WHY: With its one-second, one-hand fold and ultra-compact design, plenty of our parent judges fell head over heels for the Butterfly. The panel loved the minimal pared-back design, the deep and roomy hood and the fact that this pram is so lightweight it can easily be manoeuvred onto different levels e.g. pavement to bus, when travelling, carried up stairs and loaded into car boots. It’s even small enough to carry onto a plane as hand-luggage and can easily be stowed as overhead luggage on a train. The carry handle that can be worn over your shoulder was also noted as a great way to make this buggy extra portable.

This looks so stylish and feels so useful. The smaller wheels and compact fold make it a great option for anyone low on storage space or for those who want to keep their buggy in the car boot.

I have this and am a big fan. It pushes beautifully, has a comfy padded seat, impressively-spacious basket for a compact, light to pick up, easy to fold and unfold, and it looks great. I absolutely love it. The larger-sized basket is excellent. Really handy for filling up with top-up groceries after nursery pick-up.

WHO: didofy

WHAT: Aster 2

WHY: This innovative compact-fold pushchair, suitable from birth up to 25kg impressed our judges with its ultra-lightweight frame and incredibly compact fold. So compact in fact that it can be taken on planes as hand luggage, and can fit into most overhead lockers. The panel felt this was a great buggy for any parents who travel frequently whether it be across countries or towns and that the price point was good value.

This is such a lovely buggy. Great to steer one handed, easy to fold and I really like the leather trim details.
Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior
Fabulously easy to fold, even with a cosytoes attached, you press the button and it will fold itself down. I like the fact it has a bumper bar and folds so beautifully. This is a great compact buggy, very light to lift too, and a great option for travel or occasional use.

WHO: Out n About

WHAT: Nipper v5

WHY: Our judges agreed that the Out ‘n’ About Nipper is a great option for any family looking for a compact, lightweight pushchair with a sporty edge. Nippy by name and nippy by nature, this buggy is easy to manoeuvre across any terrain, with specially designed tyres reminiscent of a bicycle, incredible suspension, and a weight of just 9.8kg. The panel thought this was a cool-looking, well-designed buggy that would be great for anyone in need of a compact travel system, with the added bonus that it can accompany active parents on jogs.

The perfect option for anyone in search of a buggy that has all the advantages of a compact travel system but is lightweight and robust enough to cross trickier terrains and be pushed along on a brisk jog.
Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior
I love this buggy, having used the double version with my own children, and love how easy it is to fold and how it glides along beautifully over any terrain. If you want something that can handle rougher ground, without being too bulky, this is fantastic option. This is a really practical, straightforward pushchair, and a great price.
Christy McGhee, Made for Mums
A buggy that sporty, active parents will love both in terms of its cool aerodynamic looks and its all-terrain wheels and lightweight frame.
