JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 GOLD WINNER: Best Interiors Product Design (Soft Furnishings)

WHO: DockATot X William Morris & Co.

WHAT: Multifunction pod, moses basket and children’s play accessories brand DockATot has designed a collection of products and accessories in collaboration with the archive gems of Morris & Co. the Arts & Crafts design house, renowned for timeless nature-inspired fabrics and furnishings.

WHY: This collaboration between the contemporary nursery design company DockATot and the classic prints of Morris & Co is an unexpected match made in heaven. The world of children’s interiors is taken to a whole new opulent level with stunning maximal prints that decorate everything from moses baskets to stunning teepees and floor cushions. The quality is incredible  – our judges were astounded by the sumptuous floor cushions and the immaculate finishes, agreeing that William Morris’ famous quote “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” could not be more apt.

You had me at Strawberry Thief! This range makes me want to have another baby again.

I predict these to be at the top of every future baby shower wishlist!

Incredible attention to detail from leather handles, soft tassels and brocade trims. It all makes this product feel very special and luxurious. The indoor tee pee design for children isn’t new but a Tee pee design that can last through generations and be enjoyed into teen years is. The ultimate in luxury for kids. As well made as any high end furnishing bought for adults.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 SILVER WINNER: Best Interiors Product Design (Soft Furnishings)

WHO: Gus & Beau – Playmats

WHAT: Premium play mats in muted colours and simple contemporary patterns, designed to complement the modern home’s style and aesthetic. Made from BPA, lead and phthalate free foam.

WHY: A breath of fresh air from the garish, jarring play mats of yesterday! Our judges loved the super soft foam, the generous squares and the soft palette of colours that would complement any living space. Wipeable, practical, pretty, protective and a pleasure for the panel to sit on!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. What a beautiful brand you have created. I love how these mats bring gorgeous minimal style to such a useful and much loved product!
Gemma Metcalfe, founder of Mutha. Hood @mutha.hood
Excellent palette of colours and designs to chose from that can suit any home decor. Great for parents who don’t want bright primary colours to take over their home.
Sarah Jane Mee, SKY TV Presenter
The colours and prints are delightful, working well in any interiors. I also love how big the mats are.

LOVE these designs. Beautiful. The colours are my dream palette!
Charlotte Kewely, Children’s Stylist and Blogger @thelittlestylist
I love these mats! I love that the prints and colours are designed to complement rather than clash with your house, which is something I struggled to find when I had my daughter.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 BRONZE WINNER: Best Interiors Product Design (Soft Furnishings)

WHO: Forivor – The Space Above the Ground Collection

WHAT: An organic cotton, nature inspired reversible quilt featuring magical hand painted scenes on each side to stimulate conversation, imaginations and dreams. Accompanied by an illustrated story book featuring the wildlife in the design, exploring themes of metamorphosis, bird migration, pollination and the cosmos.

WHY: This quilt is the stuff that dreams are made of  – quite literally. The stunning illustrations that grace each side are epic in scale and detail and really are something different and special in what can sometimes feel like a sea of sameness. The designers wanted to create a safe-haven for storytelling, with magical creatures as nighttime companions and our judges all felt that this aim was more than met.

This bedding collection is simply stunning, yet so playful it could last in a Children’s room for quite a while! Maybe even in the parents room as well!
Alissa Bertrand, founder of @jabellafleur
