WHO: No Fred - Harbour House

WHAT: Stylish simple dollhouses in a range of eye-catching colours that you will want to have on display. Designed to look beautiful but also to provide a home for all those figures and toys that children already have but really need somewhere to live. If you decide to buy a whole terrace of houses they interconnect perfectly so that toys can visit their neighbours with ease.

WHY: Perfect for stimulating imaginative play, these modern houses may be minimal but they provide the perfect foil for children’s figures, dolls and all their pets and accessories. The scale of these houses has been well thought out too, with each door, window and even the chimney being designed to accommodate all the favourites such as Playmobil figures, LEGO and Sylvanian Families. The fact that these houses are as appealing to adult eyes as they are to children's was not lost on our judges who commented:

I am in love with this modern dolls house that would sit just as well in a communal adult living space as it would in a child’s bedroom.
Gemma Metcalfe, founder of female empowering lifestyle store Mutha. Hood
I love these doll houses! The Scandi design is perfect for nurseries and placed anywhere in the house. It's also nice that the idea is for children to play with existing toys that they already have using the doll houses.

WHO: Family Rule Chalkboard Ruler Height Chart

WHAT: A height chart designed to look like an enormous traditional school ruler, featuring hand painted imperial and metric measurements as well as a blackboard paint central panel. Available in four different wood shades, the chalkboard ruler can also be personalised along its blackboard centre.

WHY: Our judges absolutely loved this beautifully crafted, quirky height chart that would provide a charming focal point for any child’s room. Many noted that not only would this piece make a great talking point in the home and encourage children to look at numbers in a fun way, it would also be something that the whole family could look back on for years with affection. The panel wrote in their notes:

I have one word: heirloom. Who wouldn’t want this glorious piece of furniture in their home forever, marking the growth of generations. Glorious craftsmanship and exceptional quality.
Gemma Metcalfe, founder of female empowering lifestyle store Mutha. Hood

WHO: The Nursery Collection from Edward Bulmer Natural Paint

WHAT: A range of twelve colours from natural paint company Edward Bulmer, specially created for decorating children's rooms. This paint is made from natural ingredients and contains no plastic or toxic chemicals, meaning no headaches, allergic reactions or horrid paint fumes so kids can sleep safely in a freshly painted room and you can sleep better knowing it’s better for the planet.

WHY: What could set a better president for a considerate, eco-conscious way of life than choosing an eco friendly product to decorate your child’s room? Not only will these paints provide a healthier environment for whoever inhabits the four walls they have painted but they will also have less impact on the earth. Eco credentials aside, our judges loved the range of soft and vibrant colours, commenting in their notes:

Brilliant idea! My whole house is painted in your paint. : )
Abi Campbell, Children’s photographer
