JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 JOINT GOLD WINNER: Best Heritage Children’s Fashion Brand (Brands over 10 years old)

WHO: Muddy Puddles

WHAT: Muddy Puddles have been dedicated to enabling children to get outdoors in rain, wind and snow for almost 30 years. With a reputation for exceptional quality, the brand stays ahead of its competitors by constantly reviewing and updating the technology that they use in the production of its garments. New for AW20 is the ‘Puffertech’, a waterproof, seamless padded PU Jacket, using seam free technology, that allows the warmth and lightness of a puffer style fabric to be fully waterproof to 5000mm.

WHY: The judges were blown away with Muddy Puddles' focus on sustainability (they were one of the first to develop garments made from recycled fabric, with our Eco-Splash Jackets and All-in-Ones that launched over 5 years ago and all garments are packaged in biodegradable polybags). They loved the Muddy Puddles’ Autumn Winter 2020 collection which takes its design direction from vintage railway posters that showcases some of the most stunning British landscapes and were all equally excited about the SS21 Riley collection, inspired by the work of the British Artist, Bridget Riley and her use of graphic shapes and colours.

I've been a fan of Muddy Puddles for a long time - and my daughter is too. The bright patterns and vivid colours of the new SS21 collection are just stunning. This incredible artistic collaboration has elevated the classic rainwear into something even more eye-catching and special.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 SILVER WINNER: Best Heritage Children’s Fashion Brand (Brands over 10 years old)

WHO: The Little White Company

WHAT: The Baby and children’s offshoot of The White Company, set up when when founder, Chrissie, became a mother and struggled to find great-quality baby clothes at equally great prices.

WHY: Adorable is always the word that springs to mind when it comes to anything produced by The Little White Company, whether it be bed linens, toys or their much loved baby clothes, featuring in-house designed prints and hand embroidered finishes. Our judges loved the super soft Little White Company clothing entered into this year’s Junior Design Awards and thought the quality was excellent.

Where would we be without The Little White Company? Who doesn’t get excited by a chic white box from The Little White Company when there’s a little one to dress?
Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 BRONZE WINNER: Best Heritage Children’s Fashion Brand (Brands over 10 years old)

WHO: Blade & Rose

WHAT: The premium quality knitted leggings brand that features cheeky characters on the bottom with co-ordinating clothing celebrating its 10thanniversary this year.

WHY: 10 years of fun and cuteness in a nutshell! Many of our judges had fond memories of dressing their own babies and toddlers in Blade & Rose’s now iconic bottom detail leggings. The love and humour evident in this brand’s DNA really tickled the panel who all felt that this small business really deserved their huge success in this, their 10th year.

It’s fantastic to see an independent business thriving like this! The idea for cute character leggings is a real gem and I love the addition of matching hoodies tops, dresses and boots for a top to toe look.
Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior
