WHO: Little Florence

WHAT: DIY Personalised Products

WHY: First of all, we’ve got to say that Little Florence founder Katie Randall, was incredibly clever, creating personalised items for three of our lucky judges who were absolutely thrilled! The phone cover, notebook and portrait sent into the awards, really showcased how detailed and specific this gift offering can be and everyone was blown away by the breadth of design possibility presented by this DIY design platform. With over 5000 templates to choose from, as well as the option of working with Little Florence to add any details that you can’t find, our judges agreed that this was an incredibly special gift solution that would be perfect for so many occasions.

This is just amazing! Every time I look at my portrait, I find a new little detail that connects it to me. Precious!

Little Florence’s personalised artwork is so iconic and now it can bring so many gift options to life! My picture that Katie made me when she first entered the Junior Design Awards sits proudly on my desk.

I hadn’t quite understood that this was a DIY service and imagined it took months to plan a personalised piece of art – which frankly I was considering. That you can create something so detailed and personal with a 24 hour turn around is just amazing!

WHO: Dumyé

WHAT: Beautiful Handmade Dolls With Purpose

WHY: These ethically made cloth dolls, which come in an array of skin tones were incredibly popular with the judges, especially it has to be said, with our doll-enthusiast Editor. The panel loved their sweet rosebud mouths, sleeping eyes and wonderful array of homespun clothing but most of all they loved the Dumyé Karmic Goodness® pinky-promise to respect mother nature, show compassion for fellow humans and give back meaningfully to children in need. Each doll purchased comes with a ‘Giving Card’ that invites the owner to discover exactly how their doll has given back to a child in need.

I love the whole concept of creating a doll that sets off a chain reaction of good. A wonderful gift for a child who will not only enjoy their new companion but feel proud that their dolly is made from earth friendly materials and supports those in need.
Bonita Turner, Editor of JUNIOR
These gorgeous dolls really are the definition of the gift that keeps on giving! Dumyé’s use of ethical materials, provision of jobs for underprivileged women and donations to children in need is inspirational.
