JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 GOLD WINNER: Best Family Cookbook
WHO: Kids Can Cook by Esther Coombs (published by Button Books)
WHAT: A brilliant and beautifully illustrated step-by-step book of recipes that show children how to make delicious and nutritious food - as well as practising life-skills like measuring, weighing and counting without them even realising.
WHY: The judges all agreed that this book was pretty special. The eye catching cover was matched with equally beautiful illustrations and easy to follow, step-by-step cooking instructions suitable for any budding chefs. In fact, this should be on every child's bookshelf as learning how to crack and beat an egg, how to chop an onion and how to squeeze an orange properly all have to be learnt somehow and childhood is the best place to start.
This is my ultimate kids cookbook!
I love how kids will want to take ownership of this book because it really is designed for them. Plus, the naming of the Gingerbread 'People' did not go unnoticed! I would buy and recommend this book.

WHAT: A cookbook that aims to help wean your baby and feed your family at the same time by cooking just one meal in under 30 minutes! Bestselling book by Instagram influencer Rebecca Wilson - the 130 recipes have all been checked by a nutritionist too.
WHY: Any book that offers solutions on how to feed your whole family without cooking multiple meals every day is a winner in our books. The judges loved that each recipe was easy to adapt for different ages and dietary requirements - with clear, fresh and colourful photography. The layouts are inviting and organised for time-pressed parents who just want the whole family to enjoy the same meal at meal times.
I love the attention to detail through this book. Thoughtful presentation always helps when attempting to feed my kids new/healthy foods.
