WINNER OF BEST ECO BABY COLLECTION: GOLD

WHO: Bundlee
WHAT: A sustainable subscription service for baby clothes

WHY: Our judges loved this fantastic service that allows parents to rent a capsule wardrobe of clothing for their baby, saving themselves money and helping to protect the planet in the process. The idea that you can keep exchanging your clothing bundle for the next age group up really appealed to the panel ,who thought a shared baby wardrobe was genius – especially when they read about the company’s thorough Ozone sanitisation process that prepares clothes for their next family. The JDA team also felt that the in-house Bundlee label was full of clever, wearable basics that could either be worn alone or layered up with other clothing and accessories you already had. Overall, the panel was super impressed with this initiative and loved the fact that all Bundlee designs are made from premium Oeko-Tex certified 185gsm interlock cotton from a textile mill that uses over 70% renewable energy. The fabrics are also dyed and printed with baby safe water based inks and the whole collection is sewn by specialists at a small ethical female-owned factory in the UK. A great resource for parents who want the reassurance that they are making ethical choices.

This is such a brilliant idea and the Bundlee site is really clear and easy to navigate, making this a straightforward way for parents to dress their children ethically and responsibly from the word go.

WINNER OF BEST ECO BABY COLLECTION: SILVER

WHO: Superlove Merino
WHAT: Superlove Merino Eco Baby Collection
WHY: This brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability blew our judges away. Our panel was aware of the inherently sustainable nature of merino wool but many of them had no idea that Supermerino are one of the only zero waste brands in the world! Having set up their very own solar powered factory in the Lake district, so that they could better oversee the quality of their pieces, they not only created more local jobs but found a way to re-purpose offcuts into a cellular fabric they call reMerino (we like what they did there). With a focus on sustainability from the ZQ certified farms their sheep live on, to their very bare cutting room floor, we felt this brand was a wonderful example to other fashion labels who want to work towards being kinder to our planet. Oh, and did we mention their clothing, bedding and accessories are stylish, beautiful and soft to the touch? Yes, they nailed that too.

pop-my-way

WINNER OF BEST ECO BABY COLLECTION: JOINT BRONZE

WHO: Pop My Way
WHAT: A GOTS certified, sustainable baby clothing brand with interchangeable accessories

WHY: These clever mix-and-match baby essentials with interchangeable accessories such as Peter Pan collars, bibs and socks that simply ‘pop’ on and off with popper fastenings, really appealed to our judges who felt they would make lovely new baby gifts or a great purchase for any parent sick of losing socks or having to do a full outfit change for the sake of a stain on a collar or down that front. As well as being well made and super cute, this brand really impressed our panel with its commitment to sustainability and we were excited to learn that all the accessories are made from off-cuts, their packaging is plastic free and that every Pop My Way item is fully certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The judges also agreed that Pop My Way was a great example of circular fashion, offering a pre-loved service where customers can return their used pieces in exchange for a discount giving other customers the chance to buy pre-loved pieces at a reduced price.

A wonderful idea beautifully executed and with serious thought for the planet. I would have loved this for my daughter.
